Pre-production:
1) Read the five poems below.

2) Choose one of these poems and create a drawing that is reflective of that particular poem.
3) After re-reading the poems, create a web chart of ideas and concepts you may want to incorporate in your final drawing.
You must incorporate three of the six elements of design within your work. I will expect to see a variation of line, color, texture, space, shape, and value within your final composition. If you need a better understanding to the elements please refer to the following website.

4) Next, take these ideas from your word web and put them into a rough draft sketch in your sketchbook.
5) Once you have discussed your ideas and have permission from the instructor, you will begin your final drawing. You are welcome to use ink pen, markers, charcoal, colored pencil, drawing pencils, chalk pastels, oil pastels and or any other drawing medium we have available in class.
Please make sure you write your name and the title and Author of the poem on the back side of your work.
